Just a reminder that from Friday December 6th to Sunday December 8th is the Camp Rotary Campout. We will meet at 6 PM on Friday and return around 1 PM Sunday. We’ll be staying in a heating cabin overlooking the lake at Rotary, but there will winter camping opportunities if scouts need/want them and we’ll be taking a winter hike Saturday. Should be fun.
Below is the packing list that Mr. Lacey sent out in a previous e-mail:
2013-12 Rotary packing list-permission
Please find attached the packing list & permission slip for the Webelos Weekend outing Nov. 8-10.
Scouts, bring both with you on Friday night (signed by parent / guardian).
We will be meeting at the church at 6 on Friday 11/8
Patrol grub masters and other patrol members meet Mr. Croteau tomorrow at 7:30 in front of Hannaford to shop for food for the weekend.
This upcoming Wednesday (10/23/13) is the Webelos Science Night.
It will start at 6:30 P.M. for the troop and 7 P.M. for the Webelos Scouts.
Summer is coming to an end and that means that we will be resuming Troop meetings for this school year. Our first meeting will be September 4th.
This year’s summer camp turned out to be a big success!
Besides the regular programs, scouts participated in camp-wide games, campfires, overnight treks, and camp service projects.
Over all, the scouts that attended summer camp earned (or made progress on) over 130 merit badges, and several scouts were singled out for special achievements.
All four patrols earned Honor Patrol awards and the troop earned the Troop Excellence award!

The Troop 45 Garage Sale will be on Saturday, March 23, with setup occurring the day before on Friday. Help will be needed: the signup sheet will be at the Troop meeting.
Reminder: This Saturday (2/23/13) is the Winter Carnival! The Winter Carnival will be held at the Clifton Park Elk’s Lodge. The Winter Carnival is held for cub scouts where they will participate in activities run by the Boy Scout troops.
We’ll meet at 8:30 am at Shen Methodist to pack up our gear for the day. The carnival ends at 2pm. We will need scouts to come help run our station and show off our troop to the cub scout packs. Along with our warm and fantastic campfire, Troop 45 will be hosting our famous snow snake event, if there is snow, or bocci ball if there is no snow. We may also build a useful camp gadget or two! In any case we always have a great time at this event.
Everyone should bring a water bottle and should dress appropriately for the weather. The troop typically cooks hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch. We hope to see you Saturday.
