Sat 6/23 – Day Hike to Sleeping Beauty – Updated with meeting times

The scouts have planned a day hike up Sleeping Beauty for June 23 (this Saturday). It would be great to have a few more scouts joining the hike (this is a family-friendly hike, so everyone is welcome!). There may also be some advancement opportunities along the way.

This trail has some really nice views, and this should be a nice outing. Here is a description of the trail, which is a little over one hour drive from the Church:

If you would like to join the hike Saturday morning or if you have any questions please let Mr. Snyder and Adam know. Mr. Snyder is coordinating the signups. It is a day hike, so equipment would be fairly minimal: hiking boots and socks, day pack, a bag lunch and a separate trail snack, plenty of water to drink (at least 2 liters), a compass, sunblock, rain gear, hat, extra socks in a waterproof bag (zip lock), and bug spray.

Let’s meet in the east parking lot of the church at 7:00am.  Plan to leave the parking lot at 7:30am.  For those meeting us at the Hogtown Trailhead we should be there between 8:30 — 9:00am.

If scout is hiking without parent please bring a signed permission slip, linked below:
